Following our scrimmage between Loyalty Foundation esports program teams The AscendancY (The Gateway Family YMCA) and The Dominators (Grand Street Settlement), we distributed our 130th Chrombook to YMCA youth.
In November 2022, we initiated our partnership with The Gateway Family YMCA of Elizabeth, NJ, by providing 100 free Chromebooks to qualified K-12 youth via our Devices4All® program.
This latest batch of 30 Chromebooks was paid for by a grant from the J.C. Kellogg Foundation Fund & the Community Foundation of New Jersey, which also funded the Y's esports program. (See previous post.)
Below are a few photos from the day. (Tap any photo to view as slideshow.)

So what happens after a Y youth receives a Loyalty Foundation Chromebook? Laura explains:
"So after we give out the computers, we actually touch base with the families to see how they are doing and how the Chromebooks are working. Then at Housing [the Y’s residential program, where many of the recipients live], where the families usually use the computers at our community table, we can see what they’re doing with the kids, because we want the parents involved. Also, when younger kids come in for youth sports or childcare, we ask them what they are using the Chromebooks for."
